Selecting The Best Bike

January 10, 2014
Many people have found reason in taking up Biking. Some decide they want to Bike more now because the price of gas has risen so high, and because it costs so much to keep a car maintained. Some are 'going green' and taking an active part in trying to help our environment by choosing to ride a bike over a car.

And there are other riders who love to do it because it's fun. No matter your reason for choosing to take up Biking, you need to know some important things before you decide on your first Motorcycle . Choosing the right Motorcycle is more than just picking the one that's the best looking. This article is intended to give you a head's up on what you should keep in mind when it's time to buy your Motorcycle .

The first thing to ensure is you get a bike that is the right size. To accomplish this you need know your inseam measurement. This is accomplished by measuring from your groin to your foot down the inside of your leg. The goal is to be able to sit on the seat of the bike and still rest your feet flat on the ground. This is for safety more than anything else, if your brakes should fail you will not be able to easily stop the bike otherwise.

Do you require more features on the new bike? If you have to move things using your bike, you’ll certainly want to add a basket. Will you ever carry a child on your bike? Needing a child seat attachment will alter which bikes you can choose from. Do you think you'll ever tow anything behind the bike? Your new bike needs to support the weight of the trailer if this is your plan.

Another essential element in a comfortable Biking experience is the angle of the seat(also known as the saddle). There are a variety of options for tilting the Motorcycle seat. Some cyclists are more comfortable in a slightly forward position, and therefore, find a completely flat seat inappropriate for them. Adjust your seat so that this is possible. Choosing to ride with the seat flat, will likely make for a less accommodating Biking experience, as the narrow section of the seat will be bothersome when you lean forward.

Your main priority is the physical fit of your bike. That is the primary goal of anyone who chooses Biking as their primary form of transportation. Comfort and safety are both very important.
